The hub simply has the lowest price and the least amount of intelligence and complexity between the two. This piece of work is very simple so that after sending any information to one of the ports, it will be sent to the other ports as well. Every computer that is connected to the hub will see all the information and data that other computers connected to the hub see. The switch essentially does the same job as the hub, but with greater efficiency and quality. By looking carefully at the data traffic coming into the switch, this segment can learn what address a packet was sent to. For example, if traffic from system A is sent to port 2, this segment knows that system A is connected to port 1 and traffic sent to system A must be sent through that port, not other ports
